Check out what one of my favorite blogs, dtangled, has to say about shoelery. She even features an interview with my girls over at Bluff NY!
As you know, I am a huge fan of Bluff - I am wearing Bad Things above and you may recognize Achilles from an earlier post seen here

“Among the more curious explanations proffered for the relative strength of shoe sales is that women — who make up the lion’s share of the American shoe market — get an emotional lift from shoe shopping in a way they do not when trying on jeans and cocktail dresses.” NYT
My newest addition to the collection. Aren’t they pretty?

Thanks to Ben for making this happen.
They already look right at home with the rest of ‘em (top shelf)

lots o size 9’s
I know what I like, and I like what I like. Especially when it comes to shoes.
I don’t typically follow trends because I would rather invest in something that will last. I am the first to admit that I never jumped on the over-the-knee boot bandwagon, and I have even verbally denounced this specific trend.
However… and this is rare occurrence… I am now a converted over-the-knee advocate AND proud owner.
My size 9 feet are a tad disproportionate to my legs (thanks to my long phalanges, if you recall), so hunting for boots isn’t as pleasurable as I would like it to be. As I roamed heaven the shoe floor at Saks, I was cruising my red-bottomed options and uncharacteristically got a glimpse of something over on the Stuart Weitzman pad. Flat black leather over-the-knee boots with an elastic band down the back for optimal fit/comfort. Just for kicks (a pun?) I tried them on and immediately succumbed to the trend.
Factor in a friends & family discount and it was a done deal.
As a firm practicer/believer/lover of instant gratification, pre-sale is a bitch. The boots arrive on thursday.
