If you’re hosting a holiday party, and you are in need of some festive tunes, there is a free holiday sampler playlist available on itunes right now.
I wont be incorporating all of the songs into my masterful playlist, but there are a few that will help me hit the holiday:pop ratio.
Some other songs in queue on tonight’s party playlist:
Food and Music are covered. Now, what dress shoes to wear?
I’ve always been into music - music was the theme at my bat mitzvah, I was one of the first kids in school with an ipod (thanks dad!), I make playlists weekly, I always have something playing in the background - you get the point.
Strangely enough, I haven’t taken enough advantage of the music scene around me until recently. 2 shows in the past few weeks, at least 2 more coming up before the end of the year, I got something going here.
Last night’s show was even paired with a quickie stop at Azuki for some sushi and free sake (with an extra bottle due to Anna’s skills). Sushi, sake, live music, and some tequila for good measure - can’t argue with that.

You know those nights when you have no expectations, and they turn out to be some of the best? Despite the lack of a flash on the iphone camera, I tried my best to document last night’s unexpected adventure around town.
9:30pm: In sweats and lounging
10pm: Text from Anna that we’re going out
10:30pm: Arrive at Death & Co. to start the night off but they were at capacity - boo. In true speakeasy form, they took our number and we would get a call if a spot opened up.
10:35pm Default to the dive bar next door, Cherry Tavern, and are bombarded by barbarians. We partied with 40 Viking helmet clad folk and followed them on their birthday bar crawl around the east village

12am ditched the Vikings for UFO pints and tequila shots at ACE bar
12:30am Received our call from Frankie at Death & Co. and retraced our steps back to 6th street. We resisted the truffle mac & cheese and opted for some spciy Fresca Brava’s

1:45am A quickie stop at Stanton Social
2:12am En route to Sway. Good thing I have my memories of last night because my Google maps tried to tell me I was in the Hudson river instead of good ole “spring between Hudson and Greenwich”.
We did a little dance, got down tonight.

4am Moonstruck! The long awaited arrival at the diner. We began the meal with some mozzarella sticks, always a crowd pleaser. There was plenty more food but, as we say… if a tree falls

The 2-3 hours of downtime between leaving the office and heading out on the town on Friday evening are some of the most crucial hours in the week.
Downtime usually consists of a quick snack, jumping in bed, lights out, and tv on. (Side note: when my tv is on, im either watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked up, or How I Met Your Mother. And no, Jason Segel never gets old.)
Today’s tv and snack are Forgetting Sarah Marshall (courtesy of HBO On Demand) and cold leftover lasagna (courtesy of book club), respectively. I was sure to leave plenty of room for the dinner (!!!) that lies ahead.
Tonight we are celebrating Olivia’s birthday!!! Dinner at Freemans and good times to follow.

Happy birthday Liv!! xoxo

Last night was the opening party at Carnival, the club/bar/funhouse above Bolmor Lanes.
As someone who doesn’t typically cross the step-and-repeat on a Thursday night, it was a spectacle to say the least. There were stilt walkers, hotdog stands, ‘carnival’ clad employees, games, and prizes.
My beer pong skills came in handy when I made my first shot into a fish bowl and won myself a goldfish. Not the optimal pet, so I gave my little guy away to someone who would care for him better than I ever could.

Dani was happy to pose with her winnings
