After 2 weeks of Miami bliss, I’m back in NY thanks to my new favorite airline, jetBlue
Although we were delayed, my pleasant experience outweighed the negatives of the late arrival. legroom! free snacks! direct tv! no charge to check a bag?! jetBlue is where it’s at.
Also found myself a travel buddy who dressed me in diamonds and provided great company over some quality airport food & wine. Yuvi designs 2 amazing jewelry lines, Ruby Kobo and Shashi, which I can’t wait to get my hands on.
Below you can see me, with my hands on it.
White gold and diamonds surrounded by woven silk. looks good on me huh?

I’ve always been into music - music was the theme at my bat mitzvah, I was one of the first kids in school with an ipod (thanks dad!), I make playlists weekly, I always have something playing in the background - you get the point.
Strangely enough, I haven’t taken enough advantage of the music scene around me until recently. 2 shows in the past few weeks, at least 2 more coming up before the end of the year, I got something going here.
Last night’s show was even paired with a quickie stop at Azuki for some sushi and free sake (with an extra bottle due to Anna’s skills). Sushi, sake, live music, and some tequila for good measure - can’t argue with that.

If you live in New York, hit up the theory sample sale going on this week!
For all the ladies in the place

And for the fella’s

I started listening to Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros per Sally’s recommendation a few months ago. I got into the music and was looking forward to last night’s show. But to see these guys LIVE is a whole.different.story.
Last night’s concert wasn’t just great music, but it was an experience. The 10-piece folk-rock ensemble had such amazing energy on stage, that it only further encouraged the crowd to participate. Each song seemed like a celebration led by a sexy rooster-like hippy frontman (I am aware I just used sexy & rooster in the same sentence).

For anyone out there in NY, I highly recommend you make your way to The Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight for their show.
You know those nights when you have no expectations, and they turn out to be some of the best? Despite the lack of a flash on the iphone camera, I tried my best to document last night’s unexpected adventure around town.
9:30pm: In sweats and lounging
10pm: Text from Anna that we’re going out
10:30pm: Arrive at Death & Co. to start the night off but they were at capacity - boo. In true speakeasy form, they took our number and we would get a call if a spot opened up.
10:35pm Default to the dive bar next door, Cherry Tavern, and are bombarded by barbarians. We partied with 40 Viking helmet clad folk and followed them on their birthday bar crawl around the east village

12am ditched the Vikings for UFO pints and tequila shots at ACE bar
12:30am Received our call from Frankie at Death & Co. and retraced our steps back to 6th street. We resisted the truffle mac & cheese and opted for some spciy Fresca Brava’s

1:45am A quickie stop at Stanton Social
2:12am En route to Sway. Good thing I have my memories of last night because my Google maps tried to tell me I was in the Hudson river instead of good ole “spring between Hudson and Greenwich”.
We did a little dance, got down tonight.

4am Moonstruck! The long awaited arrival at the diner. We began the meal with some mozzarella sticks, always a crowd pleaser. There was plenty more food but, as we say… if a tree falls

40 Day Dream - Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
Listening to Edward Sharpe today
Going with Anna & Sal on Tuesday night to see them at Bowery Ballroom
Friday I’m In Love - The Cure
It’s finally Friday! (friday the 13th, but all the same)
…must mean sway/the cure are in the immediate future
Tonight I have a non-date date with my ex-boyfriend. Yep. Marinate on that for a second.
I am masterfully skilled in staying buddies with my exes… not an easy feat for most.
So the ex picked the restaurant without any hesitation. This assertiveness earns points for any date (be it “non-date” or actual date). I hate the back and forth on the decision making. I like food, love dinner!!, I’m pretty flexible and appreciate any effort for a suggestion.
We are going to Momofuku noodle bar in the east village and im psyched because it’s A. in my hood B. I’ve never been, and C. ive been wanting to try any/all of the momofuku restaurants – desert bar included, Ko if I am lucky enough to score a hard-to-come-by reservation
Pork buns, here I come!*
*Note, pork buns are on the menu and were highly recommended - they are not a pet-name for the ex
it’s cloudy and around 52 degrees in NY. I am loving the mild weather in this second week of November, but I am a little torn as to what exactly to wear. Jacket? boots? umbrella?
It’s a good thing our president is there for us when we need him most. What would Obama wear on a day like today?
