happy jetting!

After 2 weeks of Miami bliss, I’m back in NY thanks to my new favorite airline, jetBlue

Although we were delayed, my pleasant experience outweighed the negatives of the late arrival. legroom! free snacks! direct tv! no charge to check a bag?! jetBlue is where it’s at.

Also found myself a travel buddy who dressed me in diamonds and provided great company over some quality airport food & wine. Yuvi designs 2 amazing jewelry lines, Ruby Kobo and Shashi, which I can’t wait to get my hands on.

Below you can see me, with my hands on it.

White gold and diamonds surrounded by woven silk. looks good on me huh?

Thanks 2009 for bidding us farewell with this gorgeous weather.

Perfect boat day with friends, family, and lots o food.

Our hearts go out to the shipmate down below with “cabin fever” (major hangover)

Nothing is better than waking up to a room full of presents on Christmas morning.
Everyone made out with some good loot.
Santa sure knows how to pick em

this little piggy… is for dinner

A recent Christmas Eve tradition of ours is a holiday dinner at Isela’s house

The traditional cuban feast is complete with all the fixins - beans, rice, plaintains, flan… oh, and a whole pig roasting on hot coals in the caja china

Nochebuena.

It’s a pig roast, people!

The $25 dollar fee for checking one piece of luggage is annoying. But the anxiety I get from waiting for my red duffle to come out on the carosel tops it all.
Next time I’ll take my $25 and my red duffle over to the UPS store and ship that sucker home, worry-free.

you say tomato…

Boating with the fam + Heat Game + Joes takeout = The perfect lil Sunday

Obviously stone crabs were involved but the real gem on that magical menu at Joes is the Grilled Tomatoes.

Halved juicy tomatoes, topped with creamed spinach, covered with cheese and grilled to perfection. These babies definitely make the list of my top 3 favorite foods of all time.

Dining at Joes is an experience but for a quickie trip, takeout is the way to go.

Holy paella
The annual paella party was a blast. Plaintains, paella, and some killer brownies. All particularly good for the waistline, in keeping with the theme of this week
Topped off the Spanish feast with a date at the Mondrian. It’s true what they say, it happens when you least expect it.

And many more

Happy birthday to the best mom that ever lived.

I can only hope I am as fun/beautiful/smart/caring/amazing as you when I am in your shoes (louboutins to be exact, and dancing up a storm)

I am so happy I was able to be with you to celebrate.

Happy happy birthday.

I love you!!
