A recent Christmas Eve tradition of ours is a holiday dinner at Isela’s house

The traditional cuban feast is complete with all the fixins - beans, rice, plaintains, flan… oh, and a whole pig roasting on hot coals in the caja china

Nochebuena.

It’s a pig roast, people!

Every party has a pooper? I beg to differ.

Party was a blast. The food was a hit. The aftermath is rough.

I could have just opted for store-bought chocolate covered pretzels, but where is the fun in that?

I threw some chocolate in a pot, dipped some pretzels in, covered them with sprinkles, and viola!

I made a huge mess in the kitchen but the end product looks festive and fabulous.

Burning the mistletoe scented candle and hanging the stockings with care (maize and blue stockings, mind you)

Personalized Santa ornaments and more than one industrial sized bag of holiday m&ms.

Any excuse to visit Party City. I’m guessing the decorations will be up until there are new residents in 4E.
